Explore Careers

It’s hard to decide what you might want to do after Western if you don’t know what all your options are!
Are you curious what a day in the life of a job looks like or what experience you need to get started in a certain career?

Academic Advising & Career Readiness is here to help! We offer a variety of resources to assist you in clarifying your interests and career values, identifying skill sets, and exploring the endless number of opportunities that will be available to you after graduation.

Below are some ways that you can start (or continue) to explore your next step.

Next Steps

Talk to people

You can explore career options by talking to people who are doing the work. This can be done through an informational interview, a 20-30 minute conversation with a professional giving you opportunities to ask questions, gather current and first hand information, and learn what people do on a daily basis. Check out our informational interview for more tips on how to request and conduct an informational interview.
